Infinity War review -SPOILER FREE-
A short spoiler-free review of Avengers: Infinity War as I pick up the pieces of my broken soul. #ThanosDemandsYourSilence
Let me start off by saying I am hardly moved to tears within a movie and I was on an emotional roller coaster with this movie.
I've been a big fan of the MCU so going into this movie I had steeled my emotions for a lot of things to come. My mental preparation proved futile for what this movie was about to throw in my face.
Characters
I was a little apprehensive about how this movie would go with having so many plot lines culminating into one feature but the Russo brothers handled it with grace. I was happy to see that many characters did get special moments to shine on their own. As a fan of the characters that seem to get brushed to the side, I was happy with the moments the Russo brothers gave to fans.
Storyline
Some of my friends that have not seen major movies in the MCU are wanting to see and will see Infinity war. I can honestly say that they will be confused and this movie probably will not have the same emotional impact on them as someone that has at least seen the major movies for each character.
I think the Russo brothers did a fantastic job to really catering to their fans that have followed along all these years with the MCU. Some parts did seem rushed or glazed over but with a movie pushing 2 and a half hours, there probably wasn't much they could do about that. I for one would have sat through a 3-hour movie hahaha.
Without spoiling anything, I have to say that the ending of this movie was refreshing in a bittersweet way. Rarely do we have an outcome like this in a superhero movie. It knocked the characters back into a realm of reality that was extremely relatable: You must find a way to prevail.
Cheers to the Russo brothers and all the cast and crew for creating a truly wonderful experience that completely knocked the theater on its ass into a shocked silence that I haven't seen in a LONG time.
Still completely shocked. I need to recover.
